Relationships begin with conversation and thrive with consideration. How do we build and sustain meaningful romantic connection(s)? Whether it's flirting, dating, situationships, navigating “what are we,” or you’re in a long-term partnership, connection is rooted in and grows from trust, respect, boundaries, curiosity, and authenticity. Let’s take this journey together :)

Couples
Connecting
& We

Feeling overwhelmed by the stressors of adulting, is life not ‘lifeing,’ are you unsure what’s next? Unpredictable life paths, career shifts, social pressures, and the weight of daily responsibilities can leave you feeling stuck or alone. Exploring how past experiences of invalidation, neglect, or instability shaped our self-perception and coping mechanisms can bring clarity to recurring challenges. Prioritizing our values over our expectations starts with self-compassion, clear boundaries, managing those expectations, and THE UNIVERSAL POWER OF ’NO.’

Adulting,
Lifeing,
& Me

Struggling with connection, loneliness, acceptance, and/or the impact of oppression? Have you faced exclusion and marginalization? Are you looking for community after rediscovering yourself, immigrating, or are you a new face in New York City/State? Our sense of belonging is shaped by purpose, meaningful relationships, and community; feeling 'out of place' can stem from self-criticism, insecurity, identity struggles, trauma, and oppressive systems. Let’s unpack these challenges, strengthen your autonomy, agency, self-compassion, and self-acceptance muscles, as we build authentic relationships that support you, your sense of belonging, and just feeling seen.

Inclusion
& Me

Do social pressures, conformity, validation seeking, and perfectionism overly influence or challenge your identity, self-discovery, goals, or authenticity? Let’s explore the deeper roots; from parentification, enmeshment, and assimilation, to broader sociocultural and generational influences. For marginalized communities, these challenges are often intensified by stereotypes, cultural exclusion, assimilation. and other systemic/systematic pressures to conform. Empowering ourselves through self-affirmation and self-discovery can help us reconnect with and center our most authentic self. Ready to discover and define your future self?

NAVIGATING CHALLENGES

Together we’ll navigate social anxiety, worry, panic, codependency, and people-pleasing (to name a few) in our safe, supportive, session space. By identifying these patterns, we can build lasting coping tools such as reframing, journaling, pausing, boundaries, etc. We’ll also explore deeper themes such as perfectionism, overwhelm, rumination, fear of rejection, and the lived experiences that shape our anxiety. Anxiety may be a part of our story, but it doesn’t get to define it.

What do our relationships say about us? Let’s explore those at times messy and equally beautiful, intimate interpersonal connections (family, friendships, romantic, professional, etc.). These dynamics, our boundaries (estrangement, "No") or lack thereof (people-pleasing, fawning, avoidance), come to define our most essential connections with others and ourselves Building meaningful healthy relationships that are authentic, safe, and grounded begins with trusting and knowing yourself.

In our space inclusion, diversity, and authenticity are essential. We welcome and value ALL individuals, couples, and marginalized communities ALIKE  (women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, immigrants, people w/disabilities, THOSE FROM DISADVANTAGED backgrounds, ETC.)

Does your inner self match your outer self? Authenticity is about balance/harmony between the two. Your most authentic-self begins with self-awareness; therapy supports that insight and alignment with your thoughts, feelings, values, needs, actions, boundaries, and relationships. Authenticity isn’t about perfection or performing; it’s about staying true to who you are without abandoning yourself for others. In contrast, people-pleasing often stems from anxiety, fear of conflict and rejection; this survival response comes at the cost of your ‘authentic-self’ in order to gain acceptance, external validation, and appease others. Over time, authenticity builds a stronger sense of self and genuine lasting connections. Authenticity is a key step to empowering you. Ready?

MA, MHC-LP | Relational & Couples Therapist

Hey! I’m Mark (He/Him) a POC therapist, ally, advocate, and life-long New Yorker. My people-centered inclusive therapy approach is built on the belief that everyone deserves a safe space where their story, identity, culture, and lived experiences are welcomed and honored.

As a former first-responder, empathy, curiosity, and a solid sense of humor got me through countless challenging times. These experiences continue to ground my practice, inform my approach, and shape how I connect with others.

In a word, my session style is conversational which leans heavily on humanistic (empathy/authenticity) and integrative (whole-person/ multiple approach) therapy, with a pragmatic, practical, and down-to-earth vibe. In short, as we navigate anxiety, identity, adulting, connection, relationships, inclusion, social and multicultural challenges together, we’ll talk, laugh, cry, process, and celebrate your wins while supporting your needs and self-discovery.

In our first meeting, we’ll connect a bit, get a sense of your challenges and goals, the logistics of it all, and what to expect going forward. This helps us ensure that we’re aligned in our goals and can move forward in a way that best supports you.

So, if you’re feeling challenged by societal stressors, boundaries, relationship struggles, or have goals you’d like some support with... let’s have that conversation together : )
